Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, New Gameplay Details

Details have emerged for the upcoming Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Dragon Shouts:

It has been revealed via Bethesda forums that injured Dragons cannot fly allowing players to battle them on the ground. Also in the post were some new Dragon Shouts, (this is where it gets geeky):

Quests:

Bethesda also detailed their Radiant Story mechanic which generates random quests which was inspired by Fallout 3’s random encounters. Bethesda also expressed their will to make the quests feel less ‘fake’ as compared to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Factions:

There are three new factions bringing the total to four including the Dark Botherhood.

:  (Mages) The College of Winter Hold

:  (Warriors) The Companions

The faction quests are interwoven with each other and the waistline, each city in Skyrim has a unique which can be messed with. The guards are a whole lot easier to kill and yes, they still patrol the city. Bounties on the players head no longer apply to the entire Skyrim world but the city it’s issued in. Travelling won’t be a problem in Skyrim, with travel mechanics from Morrowind and Oblivion. Horses are back, yay!(in a sarcastic tone).Fast-travel system from Morrowind with carriages will transport you to major locations. Oblivions fast-travel system will quickly transport you locations you’ve already visited.

Other Stuff:

The company also boasted that the game contains over 60000 lines of recorded dialogue and lot more voice actors than Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

Bad News:

Bethesda has confirmed that there will be no hand to hand combat but has offered something in return which is, 13 different types of ore for crafting weapons. Smile!
