Has Konami just given more weight to the Metal Gear Solid: Rising developer rumour?

A rumour about Metal Gear Solid: Rising changing developer to Platinum Games has possibly been given more weight due to a recent interview with G4.

Speaking to G4, Konami president Shinji Hirano reports that there will be major MGS: Rising news this winter:

“The reason why we didn’t mention information on Rising at this moment is because we are making something big, and that is coming for this winter season,” said Hirano.

“So please everybody expect to see some news for Rising this winter season.”

On the 27^th of May, iWaggle3D reported:

“A reliable source told iWaggle3D today that the Raiden-centered MGS spin-off Metal Gear Solid Rising has switched developer, escaping Kojima Production to infiltrate Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish). Viewtiful Joe and Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya is apparently directing the game.”

Is it possible that Konami have validated this rumour?  Konami’s announcement of an announcement says we’ll know by Winter.
